         Birds
Birds are a group of animals called vertebrates, or animals with backbones. They form the class Aves.
They are warm-blooded and lay eggs. Their bodies are covered with feathers and they have wings. Their bones are hollow. This makes them lighter and allows many of them to fly. Birds have two legs usually covered with scales (small, flat hard plates which over-lap in the same way as feathers).
